Happy Earth Day!

April 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

Happy Earth Day everyone! According to Wikipedia, “Earth Day is a name used for two different observances, both held annually during spring in the northern hemisphere, and autumn in the southern hemisphere. These are intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth’s environment. The United Nations celebrates Earth Day, which was founded by John McConnell in 1969, each year on the March equinox, while a global observance originated by Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in, and since January 1970 also called Earth Day, is celebrated in many countries each year on April 22, including the U.S.”

At PupLife.com, we have been taking radical steps to reduce, recycle and re-use whenever possible. For example, PupLife.com now recycles 100% of our boxes, paper and cans via our association with Fennville Recycling Enterprises. We estimate that this has cut down our waste by over 75%. The results have been dramatic, and it is very nice knowing that we are doing our part to help the planet. We also recently moved to green, recycled packing peanuts, and we have plans to move to a 100% recycled (and recylable) paper based packing solution - we will have more on that in the future.

If you (and your pup) are looking for ways to do your part this Earth Day, please read Dog Gone Green: 5 Ways You And Your Dog Can Save The Planet. This in-depth article has tips on how you can “go green” with your pooch, and still use quality dog products!
