Dear Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that we must share with you the news that our beloved labrador, Daisy, has passed away. During our morning walk yesterday, Daisy suffered a massive stroke and could not be revived.
Daisy was a special dog that touched so many people, both in person, and through PupLife.com. As many of you know, we rescued Daisy nearly 8 years ago from Great Lakes Lab Rescue in Chicago. At that time, she was recuperating from heartworm treatment and suffered extensive lung and heart damage after 5 years of neglect. With the help of the folks from Great Lakes along with a team of vets committed to making Daisy well, we were able to give her a new lease on life. Daisy lived the second half of her life to the fullest, and she loved living in the country. Daisy was fortunate to live a long life that ended doing one of the things that she loved most - chasing and barking at rabbits.
Daisy was the inspiration for us to start PupLife.com. She was our mascot, our motivation, our heart and soul and, most of all, a part of our family. She will be greatly missed. In the weeks and months ahead we plan to form a foundation in her memory. This foundation will directly aid and assist dogs in need. We will post more information about the foundation to our blog as details become available.
We would like to thank you for being a part of Daisy’s life. Daisy’s journey was an incredible one, and she will live on in our memory.

What an Inspiration she was! If there were no Daisy, there would have been no Puplife.com! WOW, It is astounding how these creatures impact our lives more than we ever realize. She was truly one of those wonderful rescue success stories, thanks to such devoted owners.
She will be very missed. Count us in for the memorium fund!

The loss of a pet is never easy. I’ve lost many, and each pet loss gets harder as I get older. After the grief, the warm memories settle in. There will always be a tear or two but having that special pet in your life is worth everything. Caring thoughts are sent your way.

I am so very sorry for your family’s loss of Daisy! I am in tears as I type this……..I know how much she was loved. All of us who have lost our canine companions, know the grief that you are going through. I still miss my Fresca, I am confident that Fresca was there to greet Daisy at the Rainbow Bridge. He was always such a flirt!! My love to you all–I will be thinking of you during this time.
Love,
Mary Therese

Their is nothing like a pet, they are loyal and friendly at all times.
Maybe dogs are the friendliest, always wag their tails. Maybe because they have a tail to wag. Perhaps it would be a better and friendlier world if people had tails to wag.
My condolences.

I was very sorry to hear from your Mom about your loss. Your Mom told us how much joy your dog brought to you. We will think of you each time we see your Mom.

I am so sorry for your loss. How wonderful that you were able to give Daisy many years of happiness and love. I, too, am crying as I type this as I have never really gotten over the loss of our beautiful sheltie even though I now have 2 wonderful rescue pups that are the center of my life. I look forward to hearing more about the foundation in the coming months.
With sincerest condolences ~

Sorry for your loss of such a beautiful dog! I lost my lab unexpectedly a few years ago, and I the tears still fall when I think what an inspirational part of my family he was!

This too is my first visit to your blog. As I sit, with tears rolling down my checks, reading my monthly newsletter from you all. My two girls, Abby and Jersey, are very concerned. They are golden retrievers and as you know, are very sensitive to whatever is going on with me. Thank you for everything you all do for dogs and humans alike! I’m sure Daisy was a very special little girl.

Oh, Leslie and Eric, we are so sorry to hear of your loss. Please let us know how we can help with your foundation as you helped us last year with our Brewer’s Memorial Ale Fest. Thank goodness we have our Curlies to get us through. Hugs to Scoutie too. With Sympathy, Stacey, John and Mojo

We’d like to thank all of you for the incredible outpouring of support you have sent us in the wake of Daisy’s passing. The death of a pet is a truly heartbreaking experience.
However it has been wonderful to know that so many of you understand what we are going through, and have wished us well.
We are blessed to have so many great friends.

Marilyn told me the sad news today. I want to extend my sympathies to you both. I remember meeting Daisy at your house in Chicago when my husband and his brother did some home improvement work for you. She was so beautiful! And she didn’t bother the guys at all. She would come by every so often to check up on them and then she’d leave them alone. I hope all the wonderful memories you had together will ease your pain and bring you comfort. You were very blessed to have her in your lives.

I can relate to the Daisy story since I am a true dog lover and a Labrador Retriever lover. My Candi, yellow, died ten years ago and is buried in my backyard. Candi was and still is a part of me and I miss her so much. She can never be replaced but Ginger, now my chocolate lab who just turned ten is trying real hard. Candi, like Daisy, is very special. There has to be a place in Heaven for these beloved animals and, if so, I look forward to seeing my “Caner” again as well as all my previous animals.
