Doggy CPR

August 29th, 2007 · No Comments

As this Sun Herald story points out Learning CPR for Dogs is not as bizarre as it sounds. Most classes use stuffed mannequins and folks of all ages are welcome. Interestingly enough, the article states that “Ingalls (the teacher) explained the ABCs — airway, breathing and circulation. And I learned the same precious seconds we have to save a person’s life are all we have to save our pets. But the important thing is, it can be done. With furry replicas of cats and dogs, we took turns practicing CPR and mouth-to-snout. Ingalls showed us how to properly blow into the plastic tubes protruding from our models’ noses. Yep, it’s the snoz that we need to key in on in pets, not the mouth.”
