Lately, the days here in Michigan have been warm, and the nights have been cool. Glacial breezes off of Lake Michigan make for fantastic weather, and the dogs have been enjoying it right along with us.

One of the best things about living out in the country is that our friends from the city get to come and visit us for weekends (not just a couple hours!). Last weekend two of our best friends came in from Chicago, and they brought their young baby with them. Ben is absolutely adorable, and our big surprise was how well our pup Scout took to him. Scout was absolutely enthralled with Ben! He spent the weekend sniffing Ben’s toes and wagging his tail along with an ocassional baby-foot lick! Scout loves babies. Who knew?

Our friends snapped some cool pictures of Scoutie, and it occured to us that we don’t show enough photos of the Pup Life dogs. So at the risk of seeming self indulgent, here are some great shots of Scout. For those of you wondering “Where’s Daisy?” - she was hanging out with us as well - couchside. Daisy liked the baby just fine, but as an older dog and experienced mom (Daisy had a litter of 5 pups after being brought into rescue) she took a more laid back attitude. Daisy’s thought bubble for the weekend was, “Yes, that’s a baby. Seen a million of ‘em. I’ll be over here on the couch.”

Here is the Scoutman running in the backyard with one of his favorite toys, the Tough By Nature Octopus Ruffian. He goes completely insane for this toy. He loves chasing it, catching it in the air, playing keep away with it, of course he loves playing tug with it. If you are searching for a good rubber toy with a lot of bounce to the ounce, this is a sure bet.

And here is good look at Scout as he awaits the next toss of his favorite toy. This dog is a true Curly Coat Retriever. He can chase down toys all afternoon! Throw it!
