We’ve always believed that walking your dog is good for you. We have a huge fenced in back yard and the pups are always running around out there. But three times a day, we grab the leash and head on out for walks. In the woods. Down the street. On the beach. It doesn’t matter where we go, just that we GO. The dogs love it, and they remind us if we forget.
Now, according to a study by San Diego State University, there is actual proof that Walking Your Dog Is Good For Both Of You. The Province web site reports that the study found that “Out of about 750 dog owners surveyed in Seattle, Washington and Baltimore, two-thirds of the “walkers” had a lower body mass index, weighing about six pounds less than those who didn’t walk their dogs.”
Plus, it’s hard to be crabby when you are out and about with your pup, getting some fresh air. Remember folks, it is important to take time to “smell the roses”. That’s it for today. Time to walk the dogs!
