Okay, here’s a little bit of fun to get you through a Monday. Apparently, photographer David Douglas Duncan was close friends with Pablo Picasso, and Picasso absolutely adored David’s little dachsund (named “Lump”). In fact, Picasso used Lump as inspiration in several pieces.
One day, Picasso was visiting with David Duncan and Lump. Picasso made a sculpture of a rabbit out of an old pastry box. Lump, being a dog, of course sniffed the pastry box, and before long, he ate the sculpture. Of course, shaping it like a rabbit probably didn’t help. Lump wasn’t injured in any way, but it did earn him the nickname “the dog who ate a Picasso”.
