We live in a heavily wooded area in Michigan and the deer population is quite large. So, we have taken extra precautions this year to protect Scout and Daisy against fleas and ticks. Ticks are especially dangerous as they can transmit Lyme Disease.
As the Quad City Times Newspaper reports, Daily Checks For Ticks is an excellent habit. We check our dogs before they go to bed. It’s a great way to bond with our pets, relaxing them (and us) with a combination of grooming, massage and of course, checking for those pesky little bugs. We also have made good use of our Flea The Scene Natural Insect Spray. If you prefer organic soaps for your dog, you definitely have to try out the fabulous Organic Flea Control Dog Shampoo.

I found a tick on my dog and removed it and there was all these little black spots around it, what are they? I cleaned the sore with alcohol and saved the tick in a bag. Should I do anything outside or inside my house as far as cleaning?????
